THE CHALLENGE:

In 2012 we challenged you to write 12 letters of Gratitude to people that influenced your life. Many of you did this and wrote amazing stories of the experience.
This year 2013 we are focusing on BEING PRESENT. This is your life. Each day is a gift. You can't turn in yesterday for more time. So make the most of each day and continue to be grateful and embrace life! Be Present! We are changing the world...ONE DAY AT A TIME!

Manners...

I don't have perfect children, but I am grateful that they are well mannered... Well, in public!  I mean if I have to choose where they will be well mannered, and it is ONLY one place...isn't PUBLIC the best bet?  I didn't get to choose, it just turned out that way.  We took our broad, mom, dad and 5 children under 11 to eat at a salad style buffet place.  They all ate well...Yes, our children eat a variety of raw vegetables for the reward of dessert...(well all except the 2 year old...and he's TWO so that explains a lot of things!).  They were respectful, quiet and visited and told silly kid jokes to each other while we ate.  They all earned dessert (almost).   It was a fun night out with the children.  We don't do it often, and they know it is a reward, but I am grateful we get to do it with them sometimes.  I know they look forward to it, but so do I!  Said TWO year old...went without dessert.  Life, it's all about choices.

Changing the world...ONE letter at a time!

  1. I agree. I would for sure choose for them to be polite in public vs. home, but luckily, I don't have to make that choice. For the most part they are always polite. I've seen so many kids who just have not respect and it drives me nuts and makes me appreciate how sweet my kids are. I don't have to worry about taking them into public or on the rare night out.
